The first Special Guest for the Winter Edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con has been announced! None other than Elijah Wood will travel to the Netherlands for the event at Jaarbeurs Utrecht. During the two-day event, fans can have their picture taken with Wood, obtain an autograph or ask him questions during the Q&A on the Main Stage.
The American-born Elijah Wood (1981) has been in the acting business for a long time and has earned his stripes as a child actor with several noteworthy roles, including a small part in ‘Back to the Future Part II’ (1989). His career took off after the incredible success of the Oscar-winning ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. Following his role as the hobbit Frodo Baggins, Wood enjoyed successes in ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ (2004), ‘Sin City’ (2005) and television series ‘Wilfred’ (2011—2014), among others. The actor has also lent his voice to several projects, including the Oscar-winning animated film ‘Happy Feet’ (2006), where the actor can be heard as the tapdancing penguin Mumble.
Most recently, Wood starred as FBI analyst Bill Hagmaier in ‘No Man of God’ (2021), which tells the story of serial killer Ted Bundy’s final years on death row. This film was produced by the actor’s own film production company, SpectreVision. Currently, he stars in the second season of the Emmy-nominated hit series ‘Yellowjackets’ (2021-), in which a high school soccer team survives a plane crash.
Elijah Wood will attend the entire weekend of Heroes Dutch Comic Con on November 18 and 19 at Jaarbeurs. The HDCC Summer Edition, that took place in June, was the most successful edition yet for the recurring event; more than 55.000 visitors flocked to Jaarbeurs for a weekend of all about pop culture. With seven halls and an outdoor area, it was the largest edition of the festival.
The Early Bird ticket sales will start on September 22 in Heroes Dutch Comic Con’s online ticket shop, where tickets can be purchased at a reduced rate. Only a limited number of tickets is available, which are expected to sell fast. Regular ticket sales will start a week later: starting September 29.
