Malka Older is a writer, aid worker, and sociologist. Her science-fiction political thriller Infomocracy was named one of the best books of 2016 by Kirkus, Book Riot, and the Washington Post. Her novella The Mimicking of Known Successes, a murder mystery set on a gas giant planet, came out in March 2023 to rave reviews and the sequel, The Imposition of Unnecessary Obstacles, will be published in early 2024. She created the serial Ninth Step Station on Realm, and her acclaimed short story collection And Other Disasters came out in November 2019. She has a doctorate in the sociology of organizations from Sciences Po and is a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University, where she teaches on humanitarian aid and predictive fictions, and hosts the Science Fiction Sparkle Salon. Her opinions can be found in The New York Times, The Nation, Foreign Policy, and NBC THINK, among other places.

Malka will be participating in panels at the Cozy Corner stage and will be signing at the American Book Center stand on both the Saturday and the Sunday

Born in 1966. Since 1993 he made cartoons and illustrations for children’s books and in 2000-2002 illustrative paintings where he wrote short texts for. He wanted to make his own stories, but didn’t immediatly think of comics. Four picture books emerged from the paintings all written by Tiny Fisscher. And the children’s book Pension Kat (2008), which he wrote and illustrated. When he was writing the sequel to it, he had the revelation: I want to draw this! And my childhood dream came to life: ‘I want to be a comics artist!’. He started to take steps in the comic book world (2010). Pension Kat 2 didn’t happen, but other projects did. Like: the web comic Made In Dolland , which he made with Dolly Bellefleur. In 2013 he came into contact with Marc Legendre, through my comic adaptation of the musical story Peter and the wolf. With him he made the three albums Ayak + Por. This was followed by his solo project ZON (2017), for which he received the Willy Vandersteenprijs 2017. The follow up LICHT (2020) received the Stripschappenning Album van het Jaar 2020.

Wilbert will be participating in panels at the Cozy Corner stage and will be signing at the American Book Center stand on both the Saturday and the Sunday.
