Heroes Dutch Comic Con is not a Comic Con without superheroes. But games also makeup a big part of HDCC. What if you combine these two things? Then you get super cool superhero games. In this article we have put the 5 best games based on comics or movies together in random order.
Marvel’s Spider-Man
This Spider-Man game may have been developed exclusively for the Playstation, but it is by far the best of the many Spider-Man games. Insomniac Games have really outdone themselves by taking Spider-Man’s story and transform it into an almost perfect open-world game with lots of missions to accomplish. You swing through the city to defeat Kingpin and sometimes you play as MJ or Miles Morales in a pursuit mission. And are you done with the basic game? Then you will enjoy the DLC for a long time as well!
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman: Arkham Asylum brought the superhero game genre to the next level. Rocksteady has set a new standard in the genre and this is also the reason why this game belongs in the list. In addition, it is also the best of many Batman games. A large open world game that even includes partners like Batgirl and Robin.
The Wolf Among Us
I think we’ve all played a Telltale game, and otherwise you’ve heard of it. The most famous is the Walking Dead, but perhaps the best one is The Wolf Among Us, based on the Fables Comics of the same name.
Mythical, legendary, and fairytale characters all live side by side in this neighborhood, Fabletown, in New York. Bigby Wolf is the sheriff of this neighborhood and together with him you are faced with difficult choices.
Deadpool
When I say that this is a typical Deadpool game, you immediately understand what I mean. Violence, humor and not taking oneself seriously, that’s what Deadpool stands for, and that’s what the game stands for as well. This game came out in 2013 and is based on the comics, not the movies. There’s even a part where you can slap a unconscious Wolverine for minutes. If you’re looking for a good laugh in a game you should try Deadpool.
Guardians of the Galaxy
What can we say, the heroes of Marvel do well in video games. In Guardians of the Galaxy, you play the Star-Lord, the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy team who have only been working together for a year. In the game you get to know the rest of the crew better and if you have read the comics or seen the movies this can be a surprise. This game could be a What If… since the characters are the same but the backstories are different.
BONUS: InFamous Second Son
Okay, this article should be about games based on superheroes from comics and movies. InFamous Second Son is not based on a comic or movie but is one of the best superhero games out there. Like X-Men’s la Rogue, main character Delsin Rowe can absorb the superpowers of others. The game takes place in the modern world and you are constantly faced with the choice to do the right thing or to storm the bad path.
